If the printer responds at all, then alignment issues are controlled in 2 ways.

The most important is that, when you are presented with a PREPARE YOUR PRINTER prompt, you enter an appropriate configuration file name.   Here is a list:

Dot Matrix:

For "WIDE, 132-COLUMN REPORTS", use COMPRESS

For everything else, use either NORMAL or NULL and then move the document in the carriage to align.   Be sure to power the printer off before moving the document (and then back on to test).

Laser or inkjet:

For preprinted forms (for example checks and invoices) use RESET

For "WIDE, 132-COLUMN REPORTS", use LASER-C

For everything else, use LASER-N

If, and only if, a preprinted form does not print properly when the correct configuration is used, then a text file can be created or edited that will permit setting a TOP margin and a LEFT margin.   These are VERY seldom needed, so this document will not address this method.
