Thank you for purchasing CharterHouse / Levinson Lyon Software.
The following describes some of the changes, updates, omissions, Etc. that
are not documented elsewhere.
CharterHouse has a web site. For program updates (fixes) and other
information visit

Context-sensitive Help is available. Press <F10> while
your cursor is in the field for which you need assistance.
A new menu is available from the Master Menu which is accessed by typing
the <Ctrl> and <U> keys simultaneously. This
menu facilitates troubleshooting and error correction.
MANUAL VIEWER
You can view on the screen the user manual for any of the basic applications
(Guide to Operations, Master Menu, A/R, Billing and Inventory Control,
Accounts
Payable and General Ledger. To view any manual, simply
proceed to the menu for the application whose manual you wish to view.
Once in the application menu, instead of entering a menu selection number,
enter the letter Z and press <Enter>. You will be asked
for a program name to run. Enter the name MMVIEW and press
<Enter>. You will then be allowed to scroll through the
manual text on the screen using various scrolling control keys (see page
80 in the Jumpstart Manual).
The HotKey program (CINQ.EXE) supplied with your system is automatically
installed when you install the Levinson Lyon Software. It is configured
so that no matter which application you are processing at the time, simply
pressing the <Ctrl> <Alt> and <H> keys simultaneously
will pop up a window that will allow you to query basic information about
a CUSTOMER, INVENTORY ITEM or VENDOR. Once you're in the pop-up window,
simply enter the key (or name in the case of Customer or Vendor) and the
data record will be instantly displayed. You can also use the <F3>
and <F4> keys to "browse" backward or forward through the file.
HotKey can even work from other applications. To do this, you
have to know how to change the LYON.BAT file that is created during installation
of Levinson Lyon (using EDIT or any other text editor). Simply remove
the CINQ /U command from LYON.BAT and the program will remain resident.
By doing so, you can now pop up the HotKey window from almost any application
(the DOS prompt, your word processor, database, spreadsheet, Etc.).
For complete information on the installation and
use of the HotKey module, print the HotKey Manual from the Special
Menu option of the Levinson Lyon Master Menu.
The Bank Reconciliation feature (with its associated reports, Etc.) was
updated just prior to press time. To print the manual supplement
for Bank Reconciliation, simply make the selection to print the Bank
Reconciliation Manual from the Special Menu option of the Levinson
Lyon Master Menu.
Novell and compatible users should refer to the Appendix at the end of
the Jumpstart Manual for special network implementation procedures.
There is also a Microsoft Word document NOVELL.DOC which you should read.
This HTML version is not as pretty.
